About Us
What Does Sarepta Mean?
Sarepta is the name of the place where God supernaturally provided for Elijah as he accomplished the mission of God, and for the widow as she supported the one on mission.
Similarly, we exist to support churches in accomplishing the mission of God.

Our History
The Sarepta Baptist Association was founded in 1799 and is one of the oldest associations in Georgia.
Our association is one of the largest geographical associations in Georgia, covering four counties (Clarke, Jackson, Madison, Oglethorpe) and parts of three other counties (Banks, Franklin, Oconee).
Currently, Sarepta consists of 68 churches.
Our Focus
Ministry:
The first area of focus is Ministry. Our slogan is: One Body • One Mission. Thus, our ministry focus is to encourage our churches to cooperate together on various ministry needs. For example, in an effort to meet the needs of foster families, our churches are collecting new pajamas and sending them to Jambos who then distributes them to foster families in need. Our churches are encouraged to participate in training that will help them better address the specific needs in their community.
Missions:
The second area of focus is that of Missions. For us, missions begins on our front door step by taking advantage of an opportunity that is related to the University of Georgia students. Many international students come with spouses who do not speak English. We offer a ministry to teach them English with a Christian emphasis through our International Friends ministry. Currently, missions also reach outside the US to touch Panama. We are training pastors and church leaders in Panama. Our network of pastors give of their time and resources to go and teach courses that equip their pastors. We encourage and educate our churches in the area of missions education.
